8. Duncan BEATTY was born on 26 April 1845 in Geelong, Port Phillip District, New South Wales, Australia. He was baptized on 9 September 1845 in St. Andrew's Presbyterian Church, Geelong, Port Phillip District, New South Wales, Australia. Baptised by the Rev. Andrew Love. He lived in Springhurst, Bontharambo, Victoria, Australia in February 1915. (Residence at the time of the death of his eldest son.) Died at his residence, 'Boralma.' He died on 31 October 1915 in Wangaratta, Victoria, Australia. He was buried on 2 November 1915 in Wangaratta Cemetery, Victoria, Australia. The funeral service being read by the Rev. F. Chisholm. The arrangements were carried out by Mr. T. Laidler. The coffin bearers were Messrs. W. Pleitner, W. Snowden, H. Robinson and E. Dawe. A native of Lovely Banks, Geelong.

Duncan BEATTY and Sarah HAZELBROOK were married on 16 March 1885 in the Manse, St. Paul's Church Presbyterian Church, Wangaratta, Victoria, Australia. Duncan Beatty, farmer, bachelor, aged 39 years, of Springhurst, born in Geelong, the son of John Beatty, farmer, and Sarah Ann Dawson, and Sarah Hasselbrook, spinster, aged 26 years, born in El Dorado, the daughter of Henry Adolphus Hasselbrook, farmer, and Jane (McKenzie?). Married by the Rev. Alexander McDonald, minister of St. Paul's Presbyterian Church, Wangaratta. Witnesses: Annie Hasselbrook and Kate Beatty. Sarah HAZELBROOK was born on 26 June 1858 in El Dorado, Victoria, Australia. She died on 10 November 1931 in Wagga Wagga, New South Wales, Australia. (Or Sarah Hassel Crook.) Duncan BEATTY and Sarah HAZELBROOK had the following children:

35	i.	John BEATTY was born on 1 July 1886 in El Dorado, Victoria, Australia. (Born at Carraragermugee?) He died on 28 February 1915 in Warragul, Victoria, Australia. Died in a mining accident at Ericca/Walhalla and buried at Warragul.
36	ii.	Ann BEATTY was born on 11 December 1887 in El Dorado, Victoria, Australia. She died in August 1888.
